N° 001Our standard
theBEAT has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. When you post a rating, a note, a photo, a suggestion, or anything else other people can see, you are part of a community of real diners. Treat it that way. Content or conduct that harasses, endangers, demeans, or deceives other people has no place here and will be removed.
N° 002What is not allowed
You may not post, share, or submit content that:
- Harasses, bullies, threatens, or targets any person.
- Promotes hate or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, gender, age, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
- Is sexually explicit, or sexualizes, endangers, or exploits minors in any way.
- Depicts or encourages violence, self-harm, or illegal activity.
- Is spam, a scam, or deliberately deceptive — including fake reviews, vote manipulation, or impersonation.
- Shares another person’s private information without consent.
- Infringes someone else’s intellectual property or other rights.
This list is not exhaustive. We may remove anything that violates the spirit of these guidelines, and we may act on behavior on the platform even when no single post crosses a line.
N° 003Reporting content
Every piece of community content on theBEAT can be reported. Open the … menu on a person’s profile or on a piece of content and choose Report. Tell us why, and add a note if it helps. Reports go straight to our team. You can report whether or not you have an account relationship with the person.
N° 004Blocking someone
You can block any user from the … menu on their profile. Once blocked, you will no longer see their posts or activity anywhere in the app, and they will not be surfaced to you. You can unblock someone at any time from Settings → Blocked accounts.
N° 005How we respond
We review every report. We act on reports of objectionable content within 24 hours — removing the content, and ejecting the user who posted it where warranted. Depending on severity, our response may include removing the content, issuing a warning, suspending an account, or permanently banning a person from theBEAT. Serious matters may be referred to the appropriate authorities.
By using theBEAT’s community features, you agree that there is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users, and that we may remove content and terminate accounts that violate these guidelines.
N° 006Honest rankings
theBEAT ranks the best dish, decided by real diners. Rankings are never for sale. No restaurant pays for placement, and no payment, gift, or arrangement influences where a dish lands. Attempting to manipulate rankings — through fake accounts, coordinated voting, or fraudulent check-ins — is a violation of these guidelines and may result in removal from the platform.
N° 007Changes & contact
We may update these guidelines as the community grows. The date at the top of this page changes with each revision. To report something urgent, or to reach our team directly, write to safety@thebeatedit.com.
